Simpler sample start issues

Post by cinningbao » Sun Jan 02, 2005 2:26 am

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a feature of Live but I had a loop, with hits on every 16th beat; I wanted to chop the first four 16ths from the loop and dump them in individual slots on the Simpler. So I set the loop pointers in the loop to the first beat, dropped it in the Simpler, and so on for four semiquavers. Now, they don't sound exactly like the samples I dumped in the Simpler from the scene view. The stabs on the off beats, 1.1.2 -> 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 -> 1.2 appear to end outside the loop markers I placed in the clip. Some of my tests reveal the off-beat stabs to run into the following 16th.

Is this a feature?

what I would do is start from the beginning and see if you made any errors

You are talking about Impulse rather than Simpler...right? If you're getting some overbleed on your hits try bringing the decay down for each hit till they end where you want. Hope I've understood you correctly......

The Impulse was causing me a problem with a particular sample, but I lost the song (blame Reaktor) and I can't recreate it at the moment with other samples.

so I'll just brush it under the carpet
