What Pieces of Hardware Will Be Classics in 5/10 years?
specificly that are not right now.
off the top of my head I think the mpc-500 being so light, portable and giving 5 hours off of batteries will be a definite classic, there's no other sampler that convienent with pads/ nice sequencer, flashcard, fx and so light.
i think all the folks who like using an iphone or gameboy, or ds as a beatmaking sampler will have one. being that a sampler spits out what you put in and that this mpc is more powerful than mpcs that have made tons of great music in the past it's kind of a no brainer classic once it hits $300.
and because of the jj os I'd say the mpc 1000 is already becoming a classic

after i finally found how to change loop style / noodle patches on nord to be synced with midi clock i would say that kp3+µmodular is a killer live fun combo. no geeky laptop is needed. and you still play 4 notes without third device by using A B C D sample bank buttonsstarving student wrote: it's very limiting and very creative, actualy makes a good setup the kp3 and mpc 500.

yeah i swear by and at that damn kp3, it's like if you turn it one side to the right you get another idea even though the shape hasn't changedthoffir wrote:after i finally found how to change loop style / noodle patches on nord to be synced with midi clock i would say that kp3+µmodular is a killer live fun combo. no geeky laptop is needed. and you still play 4 notes without third device by using A B C D sample bank buttonsstarving student wrote: it's very limiting and very creative, actualy makes a good setup the kp3 and mpc 500.

i agree about the monome but i dunno bout the lemur, you don't think it has that kind of greatest thing since the last greatest thing feel to it, to be eclipsed by the next greatest thing. It's like by the time every home should have one there will be some kind of selefane wrap paper you can wrap around your forearm and run your finger across it to do that stuff.beats me wrote:monome
lemur
although both will be replaced by something(s) way more flexible and cool.
Yeah i think the MicroKorg will be a classic, it already is even though some people 'hate' it.. I love it. Its got a lot of people into synthesis.

i saw this clip by mr bloomypetal on the microkorg and he was running stuff through it and just getting all kinds of sounds for days. i like how it doesn't have like 500 knobs so it makes you thinkchrisedmo wrote:Yeah i think the MicroKorg will be a classic, it already is even though some people 'hate' it..
