There is about 11 vids on youtube that are like a quickstart guide if any cares to look.

I have to get one special order through the only shop in town that stocks Novation products (actually, they are a guitar store, so they don't have shit in stock, but I can still order one, will be any minute now).

I love how it organises maps into the 4 banks and how the speed dial can control ANYTHING the mouse can. And touch sensitive encoders. ENCODERS. If they used pots this thing would be a piece of shit. All controllers should have encoders.

Do you think this piece is geared more towards live playing

Because of how easy it is to switch between control maps and it also lights up like yo momma on fire.

And therefore it is more suitable for live and not for studio use?!

how does the speed dial work. Do you need to click the mouse to activaye it or do you only need to be on top of the thing you want to control?

It may be perfect to have on the left side of your kbd. Trackball on the right and speed dial on the left.

I saw one of these in a store for the first time the other day and I was really surprises by how good the endless rotaries felt. The were not dented, just smooth. But the speed dial was dented, just like the remote SL rotaries. I thought that was strange, I wonder what the reason is. How I wish the SL rotaries were smooth! I'm getting pretty sick of their feel.

If the encoders are set to transmit PitchBend-Data, how fine is the resolution?

Ok, so its good for mixing in a dimly lit studio too. I personally am getting one (its being couried at this very moment) to DJ with because I don't want a dedicated controller like a Vestax or BCD.

Also, LIGHTS! Everything in my studio/bedroom lights up, so I need a controller that does too, to match the decor and shit.

And, Automap is the tits. THE TITS I TELLS YA!!!

Plus, it'll free up the UC-33e for mixer only stuff, letting me enjoy my plugins in all their automapped, encodery goodness.

And finally, speed-dialling random parameters sounds like fun, and I hear it works with almost any app, not just your DAW.

And thats what its all about. Fun.

And scoring chicks.
