External FX negative delay???

I have found an old 5 band EQ that gives my audio a nice sound.
I am now trying to hook it up as an external audio effect. When I record a kick coming through the EQ it comes BEFORE the kick itself (see pic)

When I raise the delay of the external audio effect, the sound comes even earlier.
When I start messing with the track delays, everything starts to mess up. I thought setting up external hardware was made easier!

Can anyone help me out?

Weird. Is your driver error compensation set to 0?
