Is Live 6 Leopard ready?

Post by LiveXXX » Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:31 pm

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if Live 6 will run on Leopard on day one? The reason I ask is I am buying a new Macbook Pro and it makes the most sense to wait a few days and get it with Leopard installed. That said I would really like to have Live up and running right away.

Anybody know?

I sent an email to support, with this very question; maybe they can update their FAQ to reflect the answer to this question.

I am almost sure that Leopard will have backwards compatibility, but it is always good to be safe and get the word from up on high.

Where have you got this info? I was told by e-mail support that it will take months since the release to make it work.

This is the response Support gave me through email:

"Hello,

Live *should* run fine on Leopard, but we still don't have the final
Leopard version either, so it's quite hard to make an reliable statement
at this stage.

Best regards,

Ableton Support"

So, for me, I will hold off on upgrading for awhile.

I installed Leopard yesterday. Can't get Live 6.0.10 to launch. The splash screen comes up for ten seconds then disappears. Downloaded a fresh copy; no difference. Also deleted everything I could find related to Live. I emailed support but haven't heard back.

Do you have rewire components installed? There has been some talk of this being a rewire bug over on the big blue lounge
