midi foot-pedal controller question

Post by dockiki » Tue Apr 03, 2007 3:43 am

Does anyone have experience with the Rolls MP128 MIDI Buddy Pedal foot controller?
I want to trigger scenes and clips in Live with something like this, but the limited info I find on it says nothing about midi control commands.....only says it will do program changes, start/stop, and maybe something else.
If this is all it transmits, can I still use it to control clips/scenes in Live?
Any suggestions?
cheers, jd

you have to convert the program change messages in software... it's not that big a deal, but it is one extra step.

The MIDIBuddy is awesome. Light, small, indestructible. Not as full-featured as some other pedals, but I stopped using my FCB along time ago because the MIDIBuddy did what I needed and the FCB is huge in comparison.

ey bigbadotis..

im intrested to get this midi buddy.. seems like its a more mobile hardware than the fcbo1010

i have the fcb and i really find it bulky hehehe.. and the pedal buttons aren't that nice to step on... sometimes my foot slips on the other button.. (maybe i have to buy better shoes)

no ac plug anymore? just stick a midi cable? and it does the same job ? exept for the expression pedal? i dont use that neway hehe

I'm using a Rolls midi pedal. It's good. I use MidiOx to convert the program change messages to CTRL messages.

The bank up/bank down always do that - it just means you can have 16 x 8 pedals...
