Automation Problem

i wonder if someone can help me

i am drawing in automation on my tracks in the arrangement,and i am trying to get it so i can draw in a nice curving sweeping automation line
along my part/track,but all it does is move to each division on the grid,so i am getting just rectangular box typed automation,and not the nice curved and sweeping style i want.

i am not sure what i am doing wrong

Press <Cmd>-B (or the small stylus icon next to the global-quantization box in the top menu) to toggle between the two different drawing-styles. Double-Click on the automation line to insert new fix-points.

just tried it and it worked at first then it went back to the rectangular box automation.

cannot get it back now.

right click, select no grid and then hit ctrl + b

just tried that,and it creates the points,but when i drag the points which then moves the automation line it still moves to each /grid beat division.
it just snaps to each division and is not letting me draw a nice sweeping curved line that follows the part along nicely.
