Given the results of this poll, the request on the FR forum, and the obvious desire for it expressed in several other threads... I think the message is clear. We want the Edit Button back please... please... please... !

Improve the Manage Sample File or bring back the Edit button

Does anybody else like my idea of having a similar EDIT button for MIDI clips (exporting/importing them to and from a notation program, etc) ... ?

I like the whole "Manage Files ..." idea but it should definitely not REPLACE the edit button.
I'd like to get the edit button back and also get an "Edit with ..." in the "Manage Files ..." section so that I can easily choose between editors for different purposes, e.g. Soundtrack pro as standard editor and Melodyne as an alternative.
This could, of course, also be done by allowing to open a different editor by e.g. shift-clicking the good old edit button.

I'm thinking basically notation editing tbh - Sibelius in my case, but there are many alternatives for this. Some sequencers include notation editing but I for one am quite happy to see Ableton avoid this.
An edit button for MIDI might provide a useful link to a designated notaion editor though... anyone else have a view on that?
