Here you go - a website where you can discuss this with like minded folks :

http://www.debatepolitics.com/

You see our lives don't revolve around America. I don't live there, alot of people don't live there, Ableton isn't an American company... yadda yadda.

I'm fed up with listening to American dribble about conspiracies, Bush, coca cola.

Sorry but i've had one two many people try to start discussions about American conspiracy theories over the past few days which have tipped me over the edge. I just want to punch the next person that mentions something about America.

What about people dying in < insert country > because of inadequate medical treatment?

What about the drug problem in < insert country here >?

What about heart disease/cancer..ozone layer...?

What about??

We can go on and on about the tragedies and injustices of the world. One is not more relevant or important than the other.

There are much bigger problems in the world than the CIA of America.

Perspective people.

If you want to make a change then donate some money to some local charities, help out at a local hospital, sponsor a child, donate to some wildlife foundation.

If you really care about this kind of thing - and what sane person doesn't - you should think about getting involved with Amnesty International .

Leave your prejudices at home dude.

This is a music forum and there are a hell of a lot of people in the industry that are gay.

uhhhhhh. ok.

it's kind of hard for me to be prejudiced in that department, since i'm not straight, but whatever you say.

I was just pointing out that opening this thread and being surprised at the content when it was clearly marked is pretty fucking silly.

i got your original point, can't see how it could be called homophobic.

but i still didn't like your post. it has the same effect as randomly splicing a few frames from a porno film into the middle of an otherwise wholesome documentary.

...

Tosh, you should consider an anger management course

nobody's trying to make this out to be a bigger issue than any other, but we're obviously interested in it and you're obviously not. So please just leave us alone and go start your own thread.

fuck.

now i've gone and mostly ruined the thread by arguing with you, but i'm really tired of people complaining about the content of clearly labeled threads. You don't have to click on them.

tosh, FYI whatever america does affects the world. and currently most of what america does infects the world. like for instance the cia kidnapping someone in germany. if you do not want to hear about america then do not read the thread. is that too hard to do. a lot of us do live in america here, and a lot live in the uk, both of which are powerful forces that tend to have influence in areas outside their borders.

hey all you germans out there how do you feel about our cia coming to your country and kidnapping people? just curious cause i would be pissed if you came here and kidnapped some american and tourtered him. i would be pissed enough to maybe discuss it with friends who i discuss this stuff with. like my online friends for instance. so tosh quit telling us what and what not to discuss and where to do it. next time why don't you just not read it or beat it. this is a general forum.

i pity the fool who tells us what to do

and ps: the cia kidnapping people from other countries is no american conspiracy theory, that is international warcrimes

Welcome to the forums Tosh.

I am not saying that you were insinuating this, but I just want to assure you that this thread was not "typical american ignorance". I understand that there are posters here from all over the world and I am also aware that there is a world outside of America. If this thread came off that way I apologize. I thought it would be rude to mark this thread "for americans".

While I do appreciate your link I have to tell you that I have been a regular poster in this forum for about three and a half years now and over time have grown very comfortable with the community and the people here.

This forum has become my "home" on the internet I guess you could say. When I find interesting (non-music) information the people from the Ableton forums are usually the first that I think about to share it with.

For the most part we are all artists and many of us take a keen interest in political matters. For me they happen to be one of my largest sources of creative inspiration.

I'm sorry if you are irritated about the political posts but I would suggest you to kindly just skip them in the future if they bother you that much. I could perhaps understand your irritation if this thread had been posted in "Tips and Tricks", "Feature Requests" or "Bugs and Problems".

As I am sure you know on most internet forums the general section usually is the area for off topic discussion. This is the general section of our forum and no guidelines or suggestions have been put forth by Ableton regarding what can or can not be discussed here.

If this were to change I assure you I would respect the rules. In the mean time I would ask you to kindly consider skipping a thread that contains content you do not wish to view. By doing so you would save yourself some irritation and would also perhaps save the discussion within.

All of the above is said with all due respect.

Best Wishes,

Jimmy Smutek

Dude your new here, so chill the fuck out.

Smutek is been here a long while and is a fine member of the community.

This board brings together members of the Live community and we like to discuss all manner of things, not just audio related.

If you don't like it, take your bitch ass somewhere else.

Shout out to Smutek...post whatever you want. This is a community and we don't need newbies telling us what's appropriate.
