I was already thinking of getting a mac for live performance, due to its construction quality, and continue with my ol' trusted pc for studio usage, as it is cheaply upgradable, with lots of power and such. But the macbook pro was waaaay too much money for me, now i'm at a point where I could actually afford it with some sacrifices, but without feeling guilty for paying way too much for a mac...

Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.
That's the fly in the ointment for me. I bet once apple sees the uproar over this and the inevitable supply probs are sorted out then the Black will come down to the white price. Black nanos outsell white ones btw.Obineg wrote:the black 2ghz model one has 20gb larger hd and costs 200$ more than the white ?
you pay 200$ for it to be black ?

What i don't like is that the discs are rather small (60 and 80) and it comes with little memory. I wonder, can these beasts be upgraded with normal memory? Or do you have to pay for an "apple" memory? What about graphics card?
As for colour, i like the white ones, but they have the smallest disc! why?
Do you think the smaller macs are better suited for on the road portability?

You don't have to buy apple memory. You can get it lots cheaper elsewhere.
