[FUD 008] I AM AN EXIT - Polar EP (&Christian Bloch rmx)
I AM AN EXIT has a new Ableton produced release available up here: http://funquedroppings.com/funque008.html
Funque droppings is a netlabel set up by Christian Bloch (Tresor/Thinner), based in San Francisco. To quote the website:
"In the time before digital DJ'ing, Funque Droppings was a vinyl label. Three records were released and a fourth made it to the white label stage between 1997 and 2001. Funque Droppings has now been relaunched with brand new releases along with the original four."
The Polar EP is comprised of four original tracks, plus one remix by Christian Bloch himself;
1. A Minor Rift
Full of warm, shifting synths and select percussion
2. Gorky Park
A glacial marriage of shuffly beats with real strings
3. In the Embers
A stripped down melodic workout
4. Polar
A sparse palette of evolving synths and drums
5. In the Embers (Christian Bloch remix)
Christian Bloch turns in a rather excellent funque-y remix of the original
http://funquedroppings.com/funque008.html
All tracks made in Ableton....
So.. please download it for FREE... have a listen... and if have any feedback, good or bad, let me know.

first two minutes of minor rift are awesome.
you have some awesome hooks in your song.
got a little bit the feeling you should maybe stick more to the rough base of your tracks; or maybe in my taste those are the best parts.
constructive feedback though
big thumbs up
good stuff and nice to see people in the same corner

really great, as always. you're consistantly one of my favorite people on here doing original stuff
question is why are you always giving it away for free ... you should be sending it to border community and some of those guys, they would really love it. especially right now

what he said; alongside the pm I sent you, I definately think (also after listening to gorkypark and minor rift a few more times) that you should be on some bigballs label.
bordercommunity;kompakt, sonar kollektiv, playhouse.
almost certain it ll be picked up by them!
go for it man; I mean I am going to, and you are way better then I am

Well the story with this release is that Christian Bloch heard some of my previous tunes on the net, and asked me to do an EP for his netlabel. I obviously said yes, and I'm very happy with the results.. and with his remix too. I am happy to get my music out there, and I would rather it could get heard by any medium possible, rather than languishing on my hard drive for ever.
That said I did send some previous tracks to border community and have heard no response.
I do have two 12" coming out though next month or so under my other alter ego Chymera : http://www.chymera.org/ . Those records are coming out on two respectable techno labels, and are more in the style of dancefloor anthemic techno.
Plus, I also have some I.AM.AN.EXIT stuff coming out on a UK deep house label, for their digital section... they also heard of me through the website.
My problem with sending tracks away is that I got burned by it the last few times I tried... ie, hearing back from my favourite labels that the stuff wasn't suitable etc.. and really, it wasn't all that suitable for those labels, but I was blinded by my wish to be on those labels. This time around, the labels came to me instead after hearing my music, and luckily they are interested in releases. Hopefully through netreleases like this I will get even more exposure, and it could lead to more full physical releases on other labels... we'll see.
Thanks everyone for your comments, I do appreciate it...
Great music
Props, I like the melodic qualities, very nice. I am based in LA (Cali connection), Anyway, here is something for you;

I am en Exit for president.
Just downloaded the ep and must say it rocks hard. Simply can't stop listening to it.
I like the simplicity in the sounds and the way you use delays to make the music more dreamy and wonderful.
BTW. If I donate at the FUD-place will you get a piece of the action?
