ellectric bass recognised by my ableton live 10 standard

hi i can get my microphone recorded through input 1 of my komplete audio 6 soundcard into my ableton 10 standard live set but when i plug my bass in through my instrument in 3 and 4 the inputs it shows on the soundcard but i cant get the audio track in ableton to recognise it. it is not a active bass but my soundcard is supposed to be a preamp to. im not sure at what stage im going wrong and how to fix it. any help would be more than greatly appreciated. my responses might be slow as im stuck with a faulty keyboard till the new one comes. thanks heaps
