Can I delete installer cab files?

I see that Live 11 has 3 pairs of cab files on my hard drive, which is taking up over 8GB of space. Is there any need to keep them or can I delete them? I could really do with that space and it seems annoying to deposit this number of installer files on my pc

What is a "cab" file?
Is this a Windows type of files?

I guess so. Those are the installer files I find for Live.

I don't know how Windows works, but if these are install files then there's no reason to keep them.
In doubt, you can 1st move them to another location and verify everything's still working before thrashing them.
