MackieControl emulator for BCR2000!!
Cheers guys,
just coming back home, been out for the weekend.
So I read that huskervu is up 'n running. G R E A T news.
@husker: Many, many rthanks from me too for the effort and for sharing your knowledge and work.
Very much appreciated.
DJsubject, I'll have a look at the issue tomorrow at my friends house.
While waiting for tomorrow, can anybody tell me if installing theDotNet Framework will have any sideeffects on a PC that is strictly used for Music?
I'm always reluctant to install anything I do not really need, same goes for my friends PC. We have almost the same configuration, since we're working closely together.
Anyway, it seems like we don't have any choice if we want to use huskervu.
All the best

I tries this but this is what happens:in cubase sx you have to select the plugin number first!
so v-pot 1 will select plugin 1 to 8 (huskervu will be a big helpin this)
v-pot 2 selects through the plugins
the rest of the v-pots are the first 6 paramaters of the plugin
then as you go up thorugh the programs all 8 will be paramaters,
good luck
-v-pot 1 selects plugin 1 to 8.
-v-pot 2 does nothing.
-v-pot 3 selects through plugins.
-v-pot 4 displays the chosen plug in but won't close the display.
-v-pot 5 to 8 do nothing!
EDIT: I think I got it.
I have to select a plugin with the BCR, otherwise it will not recognize the parameters of the plugin.
V-pot 2 and 5-8 do nothing, I have to scroll to next page before I can edit parameters of the plugin.
Anyone else using Cubase sx got this?
cheers,
James.
I'm so stupid

MCE
Ok, i figured out most of the options of the MCE.
However, I was trying to adjust the different encoder/button assignments
more to my personal likings as following:
I want to assign encoder 33 to 55 for tweaking plugin/vst parameters(encoder 56 as jogwheel) so I don't have to scroll through the pages that much.
I tried this by giving the encoders 33 to 40 the control assignments as the v-pot's as in the MCE preset, and giving the following encoders (41 to 55) the same assignments but then adding a cc number to it.
So encoder 40 has CC channel: 1 CC number: 23 and
encoder 41 has CC channel: 1 CC number: 24 and so on...
This however didn't work( ok, that's pretty obvious because a Mackie Control has only 8 v-pots).
Is there a way of doing this by emulating the Mackie Control C4 aswell?
cheers,
James.

Shouldn't be a probelm. It's just a bunch of DLL's really, nothing that gets loaded into memory (other than when huskervu is running). huskervu and the framework can be uninstalled in Control Panel if they cause problems.funkster1 wrote: While waiting for tomorrow, can anybody tell me if installing theDotNet Framework will have any sideeffects on a PC that is strictly used for Music?

OK, I had a quick run with LIVE 5 & Huskervu on my Office/Internet/Test System:
Husker, I really love you for creating huskervu.
And secondly, yes, I can confirm DJsubject's finding, that Huskervu is hanging after a few minutes of use. Don't know why, and there doesn't seem to be any apparent pattern to reproduce it.
I was just turning some knobs around (V-Pots).
LIVE continues to work normally, also the MCE keeps working, only without any visual feedback again.
So maybe you could have a look at it husker?
TIA

Thanks for replying husker. Installed DotNet on my Office/Net system OK. Doesn't seem to have any performance- or other issues.husker wrote:Shouldn't be a probelm. i WAS having this problem! (but it seemed to be because i am a bit of a plum) insted of doing what husker wrote on his site to do, i just downloaded & started playingfunkster1 wrote: I can confirm DJsubject's finding, that Huskervu is hanging after a few minutes of use. insted of using midiyoke in the way he said to i was setting huskervu to input from the midi through from the bcr2000 in S3 mode
since doing it the way husker said to do it on his site (realy should take the time to read the info<sorry husker> insted of being like a excited kid) it has been fine i will keep testing though to see if i can get it to happen again
witch software host are you using BTW? (edit: this is the live forum )
thanx husker & Namihei my bcr200 is now super charged

>subz - yes, as you've found it's important to wire it up correctly otherwise you can get some weird problem due to midi feedback.

hmmm...I had problems with the LoopBe1 virtual midi port too...so maybe MapleMidi causes a problem too. Trying MidiYoke seems like a good plan.funkster1 wrote:Well, I've been working in U-1 Mode, using MapleMidi instead of MIDI Yoke.
I'll try U-3 Mode to see if it changes anything.
Raphael
Not sure why there is a problem, as LoopBe1 and MapleMidi generally seem to work OK otherwise. From what I could tell, it looked like Live didn't like LoopBe1, rather than huskervu...more intestigation required.
Cheers Husker,
I'll have another go at it. Don't worry. U-3 Mode didn't cut it for me, so I'm back to U-1, wich seems to be the best operation mode for ME.
I choose MapleTools over MIDI Yoke because MIDI timing is generally a little tighter. I've seen MIDI Yoke messing with my timing already once. And since I only tested it on my Office/Net system for the moment, there can be other disturbing factors maybe. I'll let you know how it goes on my music system .
But all in all I'm really happy you created this little gem

hello husker
i have found a problem in cubase sx,
when you go to edit a plugin v-pot 1 selects the effect pannel 1 to 8
v-pot 2 turns the vst on & off
v-pot is to scroll through your list of vst's,
then you need to press the channel right button to get into the fx paramaters,
but if you do this with huskervu on it crashes huskervu giving this MSG
"aplacation has generated an exception that could not be handled
process id=0x278 (632), thread id=0x404 (1028),
click ok to termanate the applaction
click cancel to debug the applaction"
if i try to debug i get another error msg saying there is no debuging software on my pc
if there is any more i can do to help with this problem please let me know
all the best

bummer
Don't have sx, so you'll have to be my eyes and ears
Can you run MidiOx, and set an input the same input you huskervu set to. Turn off other inputs/output. Make sure there is no MidiOx routing going on.
Make sure SYX is turned on in the status display in MixiOx.
Now go through your little sequence, and you should see some SyxEx action happening in MidiOx. Can you send/post the SyxEx message you get when huskervu crashes...
cheers.
