Live 8 Library location in Live 9 installed on MacOS

Post by comradec » Fri May 20, 2016 11:58 am

I've installed Live 9 on a MacBook Pro (with MacOS X El Capitan), having previously only ever used Windows systems.

I noticed that the Live 8 Library was missing and its location 'not set' according to the information in preferences.

So I downloaded the Live 8 legacy library and installed it but still no location is shown for it.

Whenever I try to choose a location, nothing actually happens.

If I leave it as 'not set', can I assume the Live 8 Library is actually there and available to use?

Thanks. I found those instructions earlier but they only seem to apply to installing Live 9 on a system that already has Live 8, whereas here I have installed 9 afresh on a new computer.

I wonder if it could be that I don't need to worry about the Live 8 Library after all, given I read that content taken from the Live 8 Library is saved in the main library once it is modified in 9?

When I transfer the songs I created in 9 on a Windows machine to my new MacBook Pro, any Live 8 Library content would presumably have been re-saved in 9.
