plugin folders. keeping subfolders open?

Hi Live 9 user.....on live 8 I was able to keep subfolders of plugins open, making easier to find the ones I use the most.
Now with 9.1 they automatically close when I click elsewhere....I see (using PC) I can hold ctrl button keeping subfolders open, but they close again after returning during same or subsequent sessions....I also tried saving as a template without success.

definitely a first world problem here, but enough to bug me...any suggestions??
