Recommend a Max patch with advanced use of delays
I'm looking for any recommended Max patches with advanced and interesting use of delays. Something comparable to SoundToy's Echoboy - http://www.soundtoys.com/product/EchoBoy

This is not exactly what you're looking for, but one M4L device that you DO want to use some time for, if advanced delays is what you're looking for.

Otherwise/also I'd recommend MFM2 from U-he.

Echoboy doesn't let you go under the hood enough as I'd like. It also limits the amount of automatable (is that a word?) parameters.

Re: Recommend a Max patch with advanced use of delays
Part of my goal is to simply learn how to create effects like that. From there was going to to decide what I'd like to do differently with it. I also just want to be able to automate more parameters since Echoboy is limited. That's pretty much it. Echoboy offers some discreet fine tuning but its designed to stay out of your way, maybe so it doesnt confuse some users. The fine tuning is really interesting. For example, Richard Devine created some amazing presets in there inspired by Autechre using these finer controls in careful ways. I'm looking for Max patches since I can't get under the hood of Echoboy.

Re: Recommend a Max patch with advanced use of delays
so yeah, you've caused a bunch of confusion by bringing echoboy into this
Question is;
1) what are you looking for in a delay? Echoboy is relatively simple, so that confused things even further. You say "automatable", but that's all of them. Is there a specific feature set that you're interested in?
2) Have you browsed the selection on maxforlive.com? If you haven't, I'd go there now.
3) How "under the hood" are you looking to get? Almost all max delay patches are tapin~/tapout~ sets with different things messing with them, but I don't know if you want to go deeper.

okay; for my money, one of the most hackable and best sounding setups on maxforlive.com is this one:
