Damn, I'm envious. My tempest order is in the queue and the octatrack will be next :).

I would do sex with a diseased tramp just to get a whiff of a tempest's "just taken out of the box" smell.

tempest sounds like its alive or something, hard to explain, but its pretty damn deep.i have gotten passed the presets really.the filters on both machines are surely ace.the bass on tempest is juicy and warm. dave smith and roger linn are going to be doing a demo this saturday at robotspeak here in sf,so hopefully i can learn something about tempest.

i was planning on a trip to colombia this winter and i took all my money that i had saved for the trip...one month and 4,000 dollars is totally gone, although if you buy machines, one month later you are just starting to have fun with them.

It's a sick set up, if you can't produce some awesome music with that, well....

... it's not the gear! :)

Curious about Octatrack, what is it doing for you that Live doesnt? I have a Tempest also. That Octatrack is always staring at me!

Tempest gave me the impression that the bass wasn't all that impressive, good to hear different.

wow, someone win the lottery?
or an early christmas present to yourself? ;)

VERY jealous!
Even though I've honed my setup down to minimal and computer based after having lots of hardware, i'd still love either of these. I'm sure I could find a place for it in my life.
