Good drum software for ableton use.

Post by littles pliffa » Thu Sep 15, 2011 4:58 am

I've been contemplating Reason. Not sure the deal with rex files though. native instruments is always good but cant really get used to the interface of all their software. just looking for any other good recommendations

ableton's own Drum Racks is by far the best drum-kit building system I've ever come across. but if you mean drums like one of these fancy giant live-drum-kit sample libraries, that's a different question. probably NI stuff in Kontakt, like what I've heard there, but I haven't heard most of the others (BFD, toontrack, etc)

If you want classic, acustic , boring samples battery from N.I.

If you want synthetic, cool , new , flexible drums go with microtonic .

+1000 on Microtonic ( http://soniccharge.com/microtonic ) it's simply an awesome drum machine for electronic drums. Incredibly versatile and easy on the CPU.
Live 8.1 Suite + M4L and C'74 MAX5
Macbook Air 13", 4 Gb Ram - Lion
Thinkpad W510 Core i7 720-QM, 8 Gb Ram - Win7 64-bit

It seems a very interesting package, but it was extremely goofy naming it µTonic and having to explain that it is pronounced Microtonic. """""µ""""" ?????? That damned thing isn't even on my keyboard!!!! Marketing idiots.........

But yes, it looks good and is cheap.
