Live rewired to Logic 5.5... IT NEVER STOPS :(

Post by Porpy » Tue Mar 04, 2003 1:05 pm

Hello

I am having troubles with Live 2.02 rewired into Logic 5.5 on OS9.2

The moment that I open Live, it immediately starts playing, even though Logic itself is stopped. When I hit play in Logic, Live will restart from zero and be synced perfectly, but when I stop Logic, Live will carry on by itself.

This makes editing arrangements with Live and Logic nearly impossible as I have to keep muting the rewire channels whenever I want to stop Logic.

Has anyone seen this happen, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work properly?

My setup : Ti800, 512meg, RME Multiface/cardbus, OS9.2, Live 2.02, Logic Platinum 5.5

thanks for any help

regards

HI Porpy
I've had the same problem with rewire with ALL versions of Logic from 5.0 onward. Slaving Reason, Live etc, they SYNC but won't STOP. I've tried reinstalling all the rewire extensions I could find and all the apps as well to no avail. Reason will act as rewire slave to Live no problem, so I am wondering if the problem is with Logic???

Tibook 500
OS9.2
512Mb
RME Multiface/Cardbus
Logic 5.0 - 5.5
Reason 1 & 2
Live 1.5 - 2.02

So same problem but no solution I'm afraid. Does anyone else have a solution?

Thanks

The problem seems to be both varied an intermittent.

After posting here last night, I tried it again, and this time start/stop work as it should, but when working in the Session view, the loops would not sync back to their start, rather they would just carry on from the point they were playing at when I stopped logic.

strange

well, basically, stuff just works now, where before it was always frustrating

rewire is excellent, the interface improvements are just right, things like the quick automation will work great once you have keycommands setup for easy access

freeze tracks work really well, though you do need to delve into the project manager a bit to make sure the freeze files are going where you want them to

so far I have only played for an hour or so, and that was fun fun fun

really happy with it, and well worth the upgrade price I think

maybe will post some more thoughts once i have the hang of it more
