Post your set up and your sexy cat...
Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
Gone are the Monomachine and Ebbe und Flut.
New kids on the block: Voyager RME, CP-251 + VX-352 in the rack, MF-102 + MF-104Z resting on the Virus. Proper patch cables on order and should arrive this week. Until then I'm making do with whatever instrument cables I have lying around.

My dog shed's so damn much.. You'd think she'd keep it in the winter but hell no, it's EVERYWHERE..dbolt wrote:Although I hate all of the cat hair around my studio there is really nothing I can do.. I do want to get dust covers for my equipment....
At least your buddies cat hasn't made his favorite piss spot right behind where you're stuff is set up.

Yea I have dogs as well that shed year round... I had to break down and get a Rainbow Vac $2000 the one that uses water to suc all the dirt/dust and I vac at least 3 times a week... He is fixed and I haven't seen or smelled any spots where he may have attempted to mark his territory ... Luckily also he hasn't chewed any cables or use my sub cover as a scratching post.....My dog shed's so damn much.. You'd think she'd keep it in the winter but hell no, it's EVERYWHERE..

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
that TL-Audio mixer always looked like the perfect piece for my home studio..
how are you liking it ? I guess that it's pretty 'colorful' ?

i was surprised: the basic sound is pretty clear - nothing spectacular.3dot... wrote:that TL-Audio mixer always looked like the perfect piece for my home studio..

but you can color your sound by driving the tubes hotter, of course.
the mic pre´s really blew my mind! they sound very direct, like in your face, if
you know what i mean
- compared to the focusrite green series preamps in the saffire wich are quite good already,
the channel strips with the fine EQs are a huge qualitiy gain.
so, i like the fattrack very much
it sounds very good, has handy features, is flexible ond so on,
but its not as much as coloful as you may expect
i hope that helps

I didn't quite understand how the ADAT i/o is being used...
is it automatically routed to the stereo tracks ?
is it strictly intended for summing purposes ?

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
neither do i own the ADAT or firewire card,
just using the saffire as an interface
the user manual says:
"it (the DO8 ADAT interface) provides you with digital access to channel direct outputs, master stereo output,
4 stereo returns and channel line inputs."
so ...
you can use the channel strips as seperate MONO INs + the master output as a STEREO IN.
the OUTPUTS of the interface go to: the 2 Channel strip INs, and the 4 Stereo INs for the A, B, C, D Line Channels.
I guess the firewire solution works the same way, but i am not sure.

That's one serious piece of kit you got there.
I adore your cat too.

Noice, I thought the 5MC had more faders, I guess it is customisable.
How well does Ableton work with Cubase in rewire?
