Did I miss something? Normally one should think about replacements before selling something?

Anyway,
I can recommend an ASR 10.
I cannot recommend Kontakt.
Motu MachFive looked good.
VSampler looks interesting.

I would buy for sure a good sampler from Ableton. It needs a snappy name, like Operator... How about Digtator? From digitize, get it? 8)

Speaking of snappy names, i wonder what native instruments will do once they run out of words where they kan substitute k's for c's. kould get trikky. Ohmforce have great (ie. funny in a cheesy way) names - MobilOhm, Predatohm, and the best of the bunch...Quad Frohmage.

Oh and on the subject of samplers, yes VSampler looked great, but i tried out the demo and IMO, the interface seemed rather illogical/buggy to me - things didn't do what i expected them to do at all, especially the bank manager, which is a nice idea but just weird. It would be brilliant if it did all that it set out to do, and the price is very reasonable. I don't know what the ultimate softsampler is for playing back large instruments, because Halion and Giga have their share of problems too. Maybe Vsampler will mature in time...

now that you've sold your mpc, give the money away, go sit on a mountain-top and meditate on your being.

Damn... Which one did you have? I have owned the 60, 3000,2000,1000, and the 4000 at one time or the other. I want it back... I really like that sequencer. I want to use Live with the MPC 3000. Before I buy it though I just want to make sure I don't lose any functions in Live when sequenced from the MPC.[/i]

i did the same thing.

Native Instruments Battery is the best replacement

but I would just try using Live with Impulse and Simpler first before you buy anything you don't need.

since we have a few Mpc heads in the house can someone recommend a source for getting the screen replaced on my 2KXL? I know its seriously off topic but i keep hitting brick walls on this one and i'm simultaniously checking the midicase Mpc forum.

I think the 1000 can have all your program info on each sequence.

In California
http://www.vstservice.com/
http://www.forat.com/

Theres always http://www.akaipro.com for authorised repair centers but I take it you want to do it yourself... Try to get the service manual when you order parts from the repair center.
