SampleTank ignores Program Change in Live (but not Cubase)

Post by robbmasters » Thu Dec 10, 2009 11:36 am

When I send a Program Change from Cubase SX 3 to SampleTank 2.5.2 (8104), SampleTank loads the relevant sample.

However, when I send a Program Change from Live 8.0.9 to SampleTank, nothing happens.

In both hosts...
  • I have set up a Program Change map in SampleTank first.
  • the "LED" for the relevant MIDI part does not light up on a Program Change message being sent.
  • the "LED" for the relevant MIDI part does light up on a Bank Change message being sent (but SampleTank doesn't act on Bank Changes...)
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a Live bug?

Hmm... I replaced the instance of SampleTank and it seems OK now. Weird.

However, Live often stutters when the program changes, so doesn't look like I'll be using this after all.

Instead, it looks like I need to work out how to switch Part from a MIDI clip...
