Congratulations.
Fatherhood is interesting. Good. And interesting.

My son's 5 now. I was just editing some video last night of him when he was a few days old, and I realized the best advice I can give (from a memory perspective):
Take video... lots of it. You'll forget an unbelievable amount of things, you really will. Keep a journal. Take lots of pictures.

And, of course, be a loving father (you ARE a guy, right? if not, be a good mother... sorry, I don't know what anybody is online, and the 'mutha' thing throws me off).

Hope my son doesn't end up the teenager I was... OMG, that would be just PERFECT (runs away weeping...),

congrats MF... welcome to the club

you'll appreciate having a boy, it's loads of fun getting to relive your own childhood when they get a bit older. when he was about 4 or 5 my partner went out to work and I spent a good year doing little but making lego, playing playstation and going swimming :D

Thanks big time everyone, really. The little fella, who isnt named Vvot (though that is kinda stylin) , is in great form, so are mum and gurning idiot dad (me). Been hanging out all together all day every day, getting close. Some great advice too, thanks, been shooting lots of pics and some vids too.
Non-alcoholic for 10 yrs and rarely go clubs these days, usually get up round 6.30 now so hopefully not as much of an adjustment as for some of you youthful folks. Still, no delusions about the work involved but happily jumping in with both feet.

Make sure you annoy the piss out of everybody on facebook, myspace, and twitter with photo, video, and cute moment updates every hour on the hour that you once thought was stupid when anybody else did it but now think it's the greatest thing ever since it's your kid. :)
