i have the machinedrum one too... and its no great shakes,,, just stupid loops that arent very nice If you bought it for the preset then going by that its probably the worst drum machine ever. But if you make your own loops then are you calling your own loops stupid? Its Only as good as the person ...

I preferred the smaller form factor of the 12", but I couldn't go back to 1024x768 now I've gotten used to widescreen on the Macbook.

Vogel is cool. I used to hang arouind on no-future quite a bit about 5 years ago. His album from last year was pretty decent. I hear he's hanging around in Barcelona these days doing mastering.

Are you the original Global Goon who released stuff on Rephlex? It's always sad to hear someone is giving up music, especially when they've done good work in the past.

Maybe you should try revamping your setup to see if you can get some inspiration back?

I'm absolutely besotted with my Adam A7s. They're really, really fantastic monitors. My mixes have improved tenfold since I started using them. Worth every penny.

It's suprisingly easy to make a 5400rpm drive choak. I wouldn't touch a 4200 with a barge-pole for audio work. Get a 7200rpm drive if you can.
