Tips Tricks to avoid bounce/freeze glitches + partial freeze
I have posted solution to some glitch problems I had bouncing / freezing vsts in live 5 in the tips and tricks section. There is also info on 1. an alternative method to export sessions to other applications like protools and logic 2. a way to freeze a vst instrument but not the post chain delays Ho...

CRITICAL INFORMATION for rendering/freezing some VSTs
Some vsts (RMIV for example) will not reliably render or freeze properly in live. This is not a fault of ableton directly, but is to do with the fact that the VST glitches when rendering out of realtime which is, as i understand what happens with a freeze. The workaround is actually a better and saf...

Quicker way of rendering for export to Protools/Logic etc
If you want to take your track into a professional studio or for some other reason put it somewhere other than live, but in its constituent parts, its much easier to do the following than render 1 track at a time. Add about 5 audio tracks (how many you can do depends on your PC i think - i can do up...

Freeze selected parts of a track
Ever had a softsynth with other effects in the chain where the softsynth needs to be frozen to free resources but you want control of one or more of the effects. Its pretty obvious, but if you insert a new audio track, drag the effects you want to change from the VST track to the new audio track, ro...

Live editing bug - grid size
OK in Live 5, get a long sample (mine has a couple of markers in it but I don't think that matters). Zoom in to say 1/64. Copy a section out of the middle of the sample of say two grid widths. Paste it in the existing clip somewhere on the same track. Lengthen it a couple of grid divisions then try ...

I'm with him. Nuendo/Cubase still has the notoorious crossfade bug which is the biggest issue ever. And back to the original post you can't compare live to crap like vsts and reason. reason doesn't even record audio for christsakes, let alone time stretch it on the run blah blah blah. Besides if you...

Simply. You don't have to buy it if you don't want to. If you have an old version you still have exactly what you paid for. It is a choice. I personally use live 5 as a professional DAW and I am yet to find any bugs in the official release that can be directly attributed to live as opposed to plugins.

vsti parameters >128
It would be great to be able to access a selection of the vsti parameters instead of just the first 128.
If it must be limited to 128, then can we have the option of choosing which 128 - the current setup really limits the useability of vsti automation.

Everyone is missing the point. I was just suggesting an updated page, non committal even - i.e. these MIGHT be included in the next release etc. and when the next release MIGHT come out. But seeing as it was bought up... What exactly is unDAWlike about live? It is a DAW. Maybe it didn't used to be b...
