Re: Rokvid question (anyone know how to hide the top bar?)
I created Rokvid. Just hit the ESC key and your window will go true full screen. With a projector connected, you can drag the rokvid window to your second screen and then hit ESC. That way, Rokvid will be full screen for your projection, but you will still be able to see Ableton on your main screen...

Re: What plugin do you recommend to mangle sounds?
Glitch devices... doesn't it bother anyone that all they do is create a generic signature sound. I've tried out a couple and I spent more time trying to avoid sounding like a preset clone than I did actually using them. These are tools. If you abuse them, you sound like the tool. If you know how to...

Re: What plugin do you recommend to mangle sounds?
Audio effects racks are and a little creativity is all you need. This is true, but when you can throw stuff from Audio Damage into those effects racks, they become even more awesome ;) On that note, Glitch2, Effectrix, Audio Damage Replicant, and Glitchmachines Fracture (free!) immediately come to ...

Rokvid question (anyone know how to hide the top bar?)
I've been trying to incorporate Rokvid (max for live), but I cannot figure out how to get rid of the top menu bar thing... the tab at the top of the window (where there's the expansion + tab). If I was brining my own projector, I could dial in the settings, but playing in a club with someone else's ...

Re: Functional multisession live performance (or multi-project)
I've found a few workflows that have helped me out with using Live with handling complex multi-song arrangements. Originally, I build the entire, gargantuan set. I have all the instruments, effect racks, etc all set up, but of course, it's convoluted as hell... so I would then deconstruct the set, s...

Re: When will Live copy locators in Arrangement View...
He didn't say anything about playing live - a lot of people including myself use Live for composing music. I use session view for quickly coming up with ideas, and arrangement for putting it all together. I also use Live as a production tool, but I'm missing the advantage this would lend. If it was...

Re: audio editing in session view
it would be cool, but I've gotten so used to just quickly dumping the clip(s) into the arrange view to edit and consolidate, that at this point I'm not sure I'd go about it any other way.

Re: midi- don't want to warp with tempo change
MIDI is always tied to the project tempo. You'd have to manually offset the timing of the midi clip to compensate for the project tempo adjustment. The easiest way I could think to do this would be to render the MIDI drum track as audio (and mute the original), deselect "warp" on the rende...

Re: Is it possible to add cue points within Live
I would be shocked to hear that Toast Titanium doesn't have these features. If you're going to charge people for your CD/DVD burning software, it better be fully decked out.

Re: Double click to RENAME channel or track
There is already a shortcut for this though. It's not that difficult to hit cmmd-R, and it takes as much time as double clicking does... and especially since this is a feature mostly used in organizational purposes, using an already existing shortcut is surely fine?

Re: Is it possible to add cue points within Live
I'm not 100%, but I think what you're referring to is a function directly related to the burning/disc-creation process, which I think requires a program equipped to handle red book protocol. Since Ableton doesn't have a disc at once or render to disc function, I don't think it can accomplish this. Y...

Re: hide / disable track option
+1
would be additionally helpful in a live playing context w/ Ableton (vs the obvious functional organizational aspect in Pro Tools) to sub-divide your large live sets so that parts you're not dealing with can just be "tucked away" and free up system resources.

Re: When will Live copy locators in Arrangement View...
When you're playing live, do you work within the arrangement view? I'm curious about your method here. When I'm playing in a live context, I'm almost always exclusively working in Session view. What are the advantages (besides easy location-to-corresponding-video clip) as opposed to using scenes?

Re: ipad & ableton
If you use a home internet router, this stuff usually works pretty well wirelessly. Unfortunately, this just hasn't been the case for me, on my old iPad or my newer air model. For some reason, the communication would just vanish in the middle of working on a project, which is something that I canno...
