Hi! I'm upgrading my trusty old amd athlon 3000 to a quad core platform. Amd or Intel.

My soundcard is Rme digiface pci.

What is the best motherboard(chipset) for the digiface.

Does anyone have an Amd Phenom based DAW around here?

Any tips are welcome.

Whaat! A huge thread and no one's mentioned Portishead. That has got to be one of the greatest bands ever. Also Radiohead, Tool, Pink floyd and early Sonic youth are great! But man that Portishead is something.

+1 for Netlabels. And i buy only vinyl. Cd`s sound way too bright for my likings.

Yes of course it`s my only daw. I can make songs so fast with it and ive only used it for a few months.

But can i do random midi timing in Live? I know there`s random midi velocity, but i want timing.

That`s the only thing i miss about Cubase.

When i mix with Sennheiser hd 25`s i get way too much bass so i use them for only when i need isolation. But they are great headphones, ive used them for nearly 9 years, mostly djing.

AKG K 701. Just bought these. Works great for producing and mixing. But another great choice is Sennheiser HD 650.

For now it`s
core duo laptop/live6, faderfox lv1,lx1 and padkontrol set. Nice and extremely portaple. But tomorrow i`m getting a new toy and i think it`s gonna be the winner:
