Steve Knots started producing music in 1999 on the MPC2000, and moved directly to Ableton Live with version 4.

He makes funky bassline-driven tracks with a heavy dub influence, ranging in style from organic house to downtempo.

As a performer he uses Ableton Live to DJ and play multitrack sets with soloists on instruments like trumpet, sax, djembe, flute and vocals.

He's also worked extensively as a live sound engineer, combining technical audio engineering with creative event production from NYC to Europe.

Steve currently teaches music production and audio engineering at Tech25, an Ableton Certified Training Center that he helped to create in Pittsburgh, PA. Classes are in-person and include Ableton Basics, Making Music with Push 3, Live Sound, etc.

Along with teaching, Steve helps run the Pittsburgh Ableton User Group, streams on Youtube and Twitch, and releases tracks that are available through various labels on Beatport.

For online students, Steve offers a new kind of tutorial called "Session Lessons". These are unique interactive Ableton Projects which guide the user through hands-on activities to keep them engaged in the learning process -- instead of watching videos.  Find out more at www.mixitecture.com
