Nikhil Bejai has been making music since the mid-2000s and using Ableton Live since 2012. His musical voyage has seen him take on multiple roles, including rock band frontman, singer-songwriter, sound recordist, short and feature film composer, and commercial producer for brands like Myntra and Olacabs. His music draws influences from varied genres like synthpop, electronica, metal, alt-rock and cinematic scores.

He also loves making audio-visual compositions in Live, which involves creating music to sampled video footage of everyday life, often accenting the visual rhythms with music. More recently, his fascination for Max for Live has seen him explore music-making as an interactive experience with non-traditional controllers and sensors.

With a strong passion for sharing his knowledge, Nikhil believes teaching has helped him widen his perspectives and find structure in his own processes while helping others find their own. He teaches music-making in Ableton Live in a structured manner with a focus on composition, sound design (covering synthesis and sampling processes), creative MIDI and audio effect processing, mixing fundamentals, as well as Max for Live basics.

As a resident trainer at DJP Media since 2017, Bangalore, he has taught batch based, one-on-one curricula, as well as open workshops covering music-making with Ableton Live and Push 2. He has teaching experience in both online and offline formats.

In addition, Nikhil offers one-on-one classes covering Ableton Live and Push 2 to those interested in learning with him directly. The courses are generally split into the Foundation Program (two months, 16 sessions) and the Comprehensive Program (four months, 32 sessions). Customized courses are also available based on a free consultation. Online classes are live interactive sessions conducted via Zoom or Discord.
