Kevin Mah is a versatile music producer, band act, co-songwriter, engineer, and performer based in Vancouver. He is one half of the synth-forward duo Love & Electrik, known for their authentic, throwback sound blending funk, synthpop, R&B, and electronic influences into a timeless sound that never ages and honors the earlier days where talent met production.

In 2009, Love & Electrik signed to Tremendous Records and released a breakout single co-produced with Grammy Award-winning producer Chin Injeti, supported by Red Bull, Team Canada DJs, and the Eh! Team DJs. The track placed in the Top 10 on Hype Machine, helping establish the group as a standout during the blog-era nu-disco and indie dance movement. Originally released in 2009, the single and additional unreleased tracks were re-released to streaming platforms in 2024, along with new music that gained social media attention and praise from music legends such as Robert “Kool” Bell (Kool & the Gang), David Frank (The System), and Stuart Zender (original member of Jamiroquai).

The duo has performed at Pop Montreal, the Vancouver Olympics, Red Bull’s Masters of Remix, Megahurtz, and Shambhala, sharing stages with Chromeo, Little Dragon, La Roux, Keys N Krates, and many more.

An Ableton Certified Trainer, Kevin has been teaching music production and audio arts for over 20 years. He currently teaches at SAE Institute, focusing on electronic music production and producer workflow; at Vancouver Film School (VFS), where he covers sound design, MIDI, and synthesis; and at TableTutors, where he offers one-on-one lessons for beginners taking their first steps in music production. His previous teaching experience includes professional audio schools like Trebas Institute, Stylus Institute, and grassroots programs such as Wired Music Labs, School of Remix, The Rhythm Institute, and Beat Drop.

Kevin also creates official product videos and educational content for Keith McMillen Instruments, now rebranded as Muse Kinetics, with a focus on sound design, MIDI controllers, and MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression). His content has garnered tens of thousands of views on the company’s main YouTube channel, where he demonstrates expressive performance workflows and innovative controller-based setups.

Outside of the classroom and camera, Kevin runs Solidtakes, his own music production and recording studio. Through Solidtakes, he offers writing, recording, and production services and is currently accepting new clients for both in-person and online sessions via Zoom.
