Is anyone beta testing Live 6 on a Dual G4 processor?

Post by ishimaru » Sat Aug 05, 2006 8:00 pm

I have a dual 1.25 G4 and I wanted to know if anyone is testing on one or something similar. The results would help me out immensely.

i'm doing a bit of beta testing on a G4dp, as time allows,
i've got heinous deadlines at the moment for a film mix...
but what time i have free I spend testing video features...

i'm using a G4 dual 1.25
its kinda standard (1.75GB RAM, 12x250GB drives & a Digi 002r)
plus a Radeon 9800 Mac Pro card

Video playback is smooth & responsive without stressing the CPU
much at all, thanks to the Radeon!

For many reasons, $$$ not the least, I decided to skip the G5 generation
& will prob wait for a second iteration of the new Macs announced today...

But that Radeon card sure helped delaying the inevitable
I can reccomend it as a very good, not too expensive upgrade
esp if u are inetrested in Av work at all...
I drive a TV & projector as a second monitor/desktop
plus I can run Apple Motion with the Radeon
whereas I couldnt with the standard Graphics card in the G4....
