Also PLEASE come to your senses dear Abes that putting out endless series of BETAS is a PITA for people who's studios are offline from the dirty interwebs ... Please ROLL out the 8.1.2 already ... It's not like it is some bloody major version number ... When you finally put out 8.1.2 it will be as stable/unstable than all the other betas so there is really NO point in teasing your loyal customers day in day out with not releasing a version that does not expire!!!

8.1.2b7 still freezes when loading ProteusX2 as a VSTplugin.

It crashes all over the place.

It is a bloody mess!

The latest -- the Virus TI using the Virus control VST. Live doesn't "crash" in the usual way -- all of a sudden the Virus MIDI track simply disappears from Session view, orphaning (and of course silencing) all of the other MIDI tracks that were sending MIDI information to the Virus in multitimbral mode. And of course, if that happens before you've saved, then all of the patch information about your individual MIDI channels on the Virus is gone -- poof. There is no path of crumbs left behind to get back to where you were before, even if you were willing to tolerate the crashes and reboot.

It is really beginning to be unnerving how long it is taking to fix this, and how little information is flowing from Ableton to the user community. I'm afraid this is an existential moment for Live unless its fixed soon.

Remove M4L = problem solved.
Or make 2 versions, one with the M4L baked in (whether we want it or not, as of now) and one stable release like the old days, without M4L.
