Finally.... Live 8 is online!
Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
@ oddeo :
first you have to go to your personalised update page, there you see different options for upgrading for your licence, e.g. to suite, to download, boxed etc then you have to put your upgrade live 7 suite to live 8 suite, which should amount to zero dollars (or euros) in your shopping cart, check out and confirm. 5 minutes later i got an email from ableton with a receipt and the serial numbers for the live 8 upgrade, for collision and latin percussion....
hope that helps...

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
Thanks Novotnik thats sorted it for me too. Ableton should send out information for those of us more challenged out here!
PS I would have put a big smile in with sunglasses on but I can't figure that out either, miracle I can work live innit.

Unfortunately, when I log in to their site and go to the upgrade page is not giving me a $0 amount when I select the upgrade to Suite Download option. It is giving me a $229 amount, which was not part of the bargain.
Did you receive an email from Ableton saying that you could now receive your free upgrade? I have not received any such email.

Ok, I finally recieved my confirmation.
Be sure to notify support, after that it's a waiting game.

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
Cheers!! Glad to hear that it was resolved for someone. Sounds as though it will just be a matter of time now.

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
It was actually a very easy fix. I called the customer support line....they picked up immediately and manually made the change while I was on the phone. It took 4 minutes tops. All is good now!!!!

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
I just tried the suite demo and spent a few hours playing with it !
OH MY GOD !!! It's just awesome ! I'll probably regret it when I wake up in a few hours but at the moment, it's just pure pleasure. This is definitely gonna be my next buy !

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
I have a silly question: I purchased 7, which was 7.0.13, then updated to 7.0.14.
Now I'm downloading suite 8, which will install another folder "live 8.0.x".
essentially I show in my applications folder 3 separate instances of Live. One is 130 mb, one is 230, and gosh knows how big 8 will be.
Can I delete the previous version folders? I'm surprised it didn't automatically do that, unless somehow the old ones need to be there.

You can delete the previous version folders if you like - no problems. But I recommend keeping your latest Live 7 version until you're 100% sure that Live 8 is stable enough for your needs.bobbyduracel wrote:I have a silly question: I purchased 7, which was 7.0.13, then updated to 7.0.14.

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
Ye-hah...up & running! Only snag was the woodwind module in the EIC wouldn't load, other than that Suite8 seems fairly stable!
Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
For the woodwinds EIC, have you checked here: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=79312Sphinx wrote:Ye-hah...up & running! Only snag was the woodwind module in the EIC wouldn't load, other than that Suite8 seems fairly stable!

Re: Finally.... Live 8 is online!
Thanks for the info. I'll save some disk space for sure. I also noticed something that's a bit disappointing. When I bought Logic Studio it came with GIGS of samples from various orchestral sources. The same library in Ableton is actually a separate 499 purchase? I already have tons of sounds with Logic, but it would be nice (for the price) to include the extra stuff. I mean, NI Komplete comes with 60 gigs of samples and, while it is NOT the same as Live, it does have a load of interesting tools all alone.8O wrote:You can delete the previous version folders if you like - no problems. I'm just saying, throw the orchestral stuff in with the Suite. (please, think about that guys).
