Freezing tracks issue using external instruments and ReWire

Post by xbitz » Wed Mar 06, 2013 10:29 am

hi,

I've got the same issue using Live 8/9 32/64 bit so not sure this is a Live specific problem or not, but if I'm trying to freeze a track (external instruments is ReWired to Reason) using the ASIO driver of the focusrite saffire 2i2 the result is crappy/noisy as u can see on the attached video, using the non-ASIO driver the result is fine, so maybe it's a driver/soundcard/Live/Reason issue dunno, could u check it, does it work for u :?:

Hi xbitz,

Indeed, that doesn't sound good. Does this also happen if you restart Live after having switched the audio driver type in the preferences and before you freeze? Another question: does this also happen with regular samples (without freezing anything) when you switch audio drive type?

Best,

Carl

yepp it happens again, using regular samples everything is fine, the only problem is the ASIO + ReWire combo

if I use ASIO no matter what I do, if I start Live with the ASIO driver the only difference it sound much worse (the left channel contains only noise)

OK, thanks for the details. I'll make sure we put this on our radar.

Hey xbitz,

could you please send all the information you have posted, including links to the video (and this topic) and a recent Live 9 status report, to support@ableton.com?

Thanks,

Torsten
