Oh you necro-bumping spammer. Yeah, we see you. Blackpool? Try Lourdes..stay_blackpool wrote:looks great thanks for sharing with us
In case you're somebody wondering who I'm replying to, there will have been spam above my post instead of opuswerk.
These damn manual spammers are getting annoying.
Anyway, on Topic: I can dig up something that might be useful for Mac users. Its an app that'll read any AMS file and exports a set of 128 AMS files. So you could create an AMS file in Operator, drag it to the app and get a full set of files for Sampler.
After you do that, the app will crash though (or its better to quit and restart after every export). And there are no chances of bugfixes since the original developer moved on to different projects. Well that and the source files are lost.

So just for the record. We didn't make this app and the developer would rather not be named. Be careful

I know im a bit late on this..
and have experimented with exporting AMS from operator..
to simpler/sampler
but dont see the advantage
when operator offers more control and sound texture.

The only advantage is to save CPU usage and to use the filters of Simpler or Sampler vs. the filters and FM characteristics of Operator.

Re: AMS File Utility for Microtonal/Traditional Tunings
i keep getting bad input error when trying to create or save ams file.
although i have used this before, so it does work. Just wondering if others have ran into this?
Never mind forgot to fill out a box Lol.

Re: AMS File Utility for Microtonal/Traditional Tunings
That would make sense apart from the fact that as far as i can see, operator only exports 1 of the operators at a time and in 1 pitch which means you immediately loose quantity and tone quality. The only advantage is to save CPU usage and to use the filters of Simpler or Sampler vs. the filters and FM characteristics of Operator.
Also you loose the FM modulation too so your now downgrading from a true FM synthesized sound to a single dry sine wave which by itself does not seem to offer alot compared to what it did in operator.
Now I can understand using the external AMS utility for creating original waves all pitched across the keyboard for sampler/simpler to use just like analogue, the problem with the utility is that it generates no sound while you manipulate the parameters which means you need to export then import to simpler/sampler to get any kind of clue as to what you got which seems alot of work for such an interesting idea.
