Free Electronic Music: Maximillian Wasinger - Vociferous

Post by etceterax » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:13 pm

The subject line pretty much says it all.
I realize "electronic" is a very broad classification, but there's a variety of styles found in my tunes. This is probably due to the fact that these tracks are anywhere from a few weeks to almost 3 years old.

I have 15 tracks available for free download at Last.fm.

OK, if it can make you happy : you suck !! hahahaha just joking ;-)
Seriously, where do your sounds come from ? VSTi ? Synth ?
I think the music is good, a bit minimalist but good, but I'm not a big fan of the sounds, sounds a bit like "chip", or maybe is this intended ?

The great majority of my sounds are the result of spending too much time screwing with Operator and tweaking Simpler presets. + filters.
The Introduction track was actually made up entirely of sounds I made with my mouth and "sampled" with my built in iMac mic. Due to the fact that the mic has a tendency to pick up noise from the fan, most of the sound was useless. So I tweaked the hell out of it.
Chip as in Chiptune? Video game music? If that is what you meant, then I don't disagree. Other people have said the same thing. It's not intended though. It just kinda happens.
Unless "Chip" is in reference to something I'm not aware of.

btw Thanks for having a listen.

Yeah definitely in the meaning of "chiptune" (not cheap tune ....like all the time I say "cheat on your girlfriend" and people actually understand "shit on your girlfriend" because of my french accent....but that's another story!:-)))) )
Keep going man. Maybe you could try and use some VSTi ?

Hi etceterax, just heard your tune "union cab". I liked the song and the sounds used. Personally I thought there was too much ping pong delay involved (at least it sounded like that. The bassline could use more melody too. The melody of the lead is great!
