should i call it that ?

i really have to make my mind this evening,
i already don t know how much more the release wil be delayed now...
Audiokinesis

"The mental manipulation of sound waves."

I know, it's a six syllable clunker of a word, but its what this thing feels like to play.

I'm really starting to like my iPod Touch. :D

8O

i am so impressed with these first good reactions from the outside world...

after the apple bad news today, it feels really nice

regarding the app network i intend to make it simpler,
basically the first time you connect to your host you´ll be able to have it be remembered the next times, so it will fire up right away

probably in the settings ill add an item to clear this if you want to connect to a different host

thank you for the Audiokinesis suggestion / big big compliment !

but shoulnt it be Midikinesis ?

I like it. 8)

Just got through hooking it up with Reaktor5, GarageBand and junXion with no issues.

Now if Apple would just come out with a multitouch Newton2... 8O

So you just crack open MIDI mapping in Live and start assigning bits to the apps controls?

Can you make your own CC note assignments?

nop,
not yet, but so far only the xy pad uses cc,
button matrix uses notes that can be midi learned
but all are hardcoded for now
they will be user configurable, the system is already prepared to do so...

i am just trying to figure out how to implement navigation between uis
in this case also between a config page or overlay

as i tend to try to use all screen for ui,
i get with no space for safe navigation items that cannot be wrongly activated

i already remembered using gestures or scrolling of some kind but you never know if it wont get fired when you re acting and scroll behavior severely introduces lag

as i have noticed the apps open quite quickly,
i am considering having diferent apps for each ui that would also be cheaper on the system than a big suite...;)

pls tell me what u think....

I know this is greedy, but what would be REALLY cool would be to make a construction kit - I would like to be able to select interface elements, arrange them on the screen and then assign them. Maybe for your next app... Seriously, this would be stellar if Apple decides to market a multitouch tablet with a little more screen real estate to work with.

Beatmaker has some real issues with scrolling lag, but have you seen WritingPad? Its this notepad where you drag your finger around on an onscreen keyboard from letter to letter and the app fills in the word or offers guesses. The user experience is that things happen quickly, but maybe its just the nature of the feedback is so different.

Keep it simple... don' t let it become bloatware!

And Land Rover probably makes enough cash on the jaded geriatric comedy circuit to upgrade to Leopard... on second thought, he probably doesn't...

aparently bcs of the iTouch part....
they seem to consider it an apple trademark although it isn´t mentioned anywhere....
I can see their point - they've got the iPod Touch so calling something starting with iTouch is a bit too close for comfort.

Said the 50+ year old geezer who - based on his pic in the Gear thread - looks like a retired member of Status Quo.

(Thought I'd throw in an English rock band reference so that you could relate - seeing as your British now and all. Say, how long did it take you to cop the accent? As long or short as, say, Madonna?)

Hey, maybe your buddy Tone 'Farm Boy' Deft will stop by and try and to save you from yet another pounding.

iTM MidiLab

Post by nonnus » Tue Jul 29, 2008 4:25 pm

landrvr1: pls.... (consider the 10.4 port delayed one more day...;))

Hambone suggestion is really appropriate and i welcome him on the thread

really, he was the first person that got iTM to a different forum,
without even knowing or talking to me or even getting into the thread,
kudos for him

so after this mess,
i have decided to create several products for the iTM suite
the first is iTM MidiLab,
for now it has all the commented iTouchMidi features (except the mcu)
it will be used in the future as easy beta test tool to experiment new stuff or for new ppl to try iTM

all the uis will be available in simple and cheap dedicated apps that you can gather in a dedicated home screen and switch back and forth between them

simple enough, H ?

pls tell me what u think

Hey... I'm the founder member of the Jaded Geriatric Society! And that ain't me in the pic... it's my partner... she's the DJ.

I'm American, by the way (although I try to keep that quiet). I choose through embarrassment not to live there (although the UK's getting just about as bad).

Back on topic... a modular iPhone/iTouch MIDI system sounds fantastic, as does the ability to customize layouts, à la Lemur. I'd especially like the ability to label the buttons (I'm old and can't remember what they all do...)
