This is a very weird, specific problem. I always have my sampling rate in preferences set to 44100, but sometimes it will suddenly, randomly change while I am using the program. This doesn't correspond to any specific action that I can pin down, either. Once the sampling rate changes on its own to 48000, all the sound is messed up and distorted too, which is especially bad when I am performing live (it's happened about every other show). I have researched this problem and have absolutely NO idea what could be causing this!
My general specs:
updated live 7
m-audio axoim 49 midi controller via usb 2.0 port
m-audio fast track usb 2.0 sound card
AMD Turion64x2 processor
Windows XP Pro SP2
2 GB memory
(PS - this is a Compaq Presario F700 which has a dual install of XP and Vista...I don't trust Vista with audio apps so I am using XP for live stuff...I might also want to note that I do have Vista's fast track drivers installed, even though I am not using Vista for Live. I don't know if this could be messing up the performance of the fast track software in XP or not. The two OS's are on two different hard disk partitions so I don't think so...!)
