i dont know that much about her but i sometimes get the feeling that ppl like her more for the fact that she was a woman in a doing electronic music when she was....
can that be the case or was she truly kick ass?
its a real question, not pissing around to make ppl mad

Thanks for posting that, really appreciated
I think it's impossible to separate those feelings. You can't separate the music from the person that made it.Silence wrote:i dont know that much about her but i sometimes get the feeling that ppl like her more for the fact that she was a woman in a doing electronic music when she was....

I admire her because she created beautiful haunting music that has a timeless quality to it. But there must have been something in her spirit that inspired her to create that music and maybe the reason I love the music is because I hear that spirit coming through it.
And no one ever created a better rendition of the doctor who theme - though Orbital's comes close. Everyone else who tried just didn't get it.
Also I think anyone would have to admit that her experimental "for interest only" dance track was way ahead of it's time.

That's unbelievably advanced for 1969 - I've never heard anything from that era that is remotely similar. Incredible.Noel wrote:Also I think anyone would have to admit that her experimental "for interest only" dance track was way ahead of it's time.
Edit: playing the Hamlet track and then starting the dance track 20 seconds later, so that both play at the same time yields a great composition
Nice and you can extend it by segueing into Blue Veils at the end and then starting the dance track again. Great fun!8O wrote: Edit: playing the Hamlet track and then starting the dance track 20 seconds later, so that both play at the same time yields a great composition
