padKontrol light show please stop

Post by timbreland » Wed Jan 09, 2008 12:15 am

How do you stop padkontrol from doing that stupid light show thing with the pads when you're not using it? It looks unprofessional and toylike and I want it to stop so that people will take my music seriously and not be distracted by the hypnotic pattern on the squares.

RTFM?

Seriously, I believe it explains how to do that in the manual and it's not exactly the longest literary work I've read. I bet whoever responds to this with the correct answer is going to have to do the same thing. Let's make it a race.

I read the whole manual last night but perhaps I overlooked that section. I will check now and report back.

Okay got it. Power on while holding down the Settin/Enter key and Scene key.

I win.

yea, those lights are badass. definitely cool if you have that homebrew app with the step sequencer.

Problem with the default setting of the Padkontrol where the flashing lights start after some minutes of idleness is that it wont show the currently active scene when you press the scene button. In all other modes the corresponding pad will light up while pressing the Scene button. Guess that's a bug of the firmware.

And No I'm not spending my whole time looking for bugs in my hard- and software, I'm just using all this electronic trash that never ever just runs bug-free out of the box.

Is there some sort of homebrew stepsequencer app for Korg padKontrol? What is it called?
