I downloaded Automat yesterday, I hadn't looked at it in about 18 months..

I wasn't expecting it to be so much improved. It's really a damn nice free synth now.

Yeah I love them too. Great especially for coming up with new weird sound fx. I could sit there for hours just making new random patches. It even comes up with the occassional nice lead/bass/pad.

Why is everyone suddenly shocked about automat? There's suddenly a lot of threads about it. Yes I agree, it's awesome, but it's been around for ages and it's no secret. Why all the sudden buzz as if it never existed before?
