A fabulous thread, and a load of great fun clips posted already :D

ok so my first contribution is here. it's not quite as rough sounding as I first set out to make but thats because it just kinda went it's own direction. I ended up spending about an hour on it.

fuck constructive criticism ;)

nice!

I think part of the requirement for the thread should be list of elements

I have a sneaking suspicion it's a bit of a Live 7 showcase!

nord lead 2, mc-202, electribe rmkII and some hardware effects all mixed up in live 7 for reverb and eq and beatrepeat

oh ok... I really thought it was all the new Live 7 suite stuff - I guess that reflects well on it then!

Changing the style a bit :o

Another quickie:
http://www.willhostforfood.com/files/155145/irene.wav

Irene? someone named irene made some drum samples which i tried to smack up. Rainbow? Well ok. i wanted to make a trance track and ended up with this, thought it was a bit sissy and called it rainbow and then i closed ableton live and took a run outside..

sry they are a bit overcrunched no time to adjust the mixing, just fired off the stuff..

Oh well just playing around, getting ready to make a complete track :)
(btw on this machine i have to right click the links and save as, otherwise media player just chunks up and makes trouble)

how could I have missed this thread.. great!

here's my 2 minutes of freeminded doodling..
nothing special really, but to me it meant a great deal..
it was somewhere during L7 testing that I finally dropped my pre-fixed ways of composing and such..
I just recorded a bunch of loops from my hardware, at random, just sound,
then started to collage, totally blank..
Felt quite good..

really great stuff poster! loving the 70's sound arp. REALLY like the kick alot in this track it's really solid and punchy. almost sounds like a machine drum kick.

thanks..
the arpish sound is my Nord Mod..
the kick just some stock sample, beefed with Live's comp..

it's just a sketchy doodle.. though (as you said yourself) the whole process was interesting for me; no pressure, just play!

my latest entry to the "focus on not focusing" thread (my new name for this thread)

zebra 2, nord lead 2, drumatic and some tweaking on a delay box. a couple of secret weapons as well.

I'm so glad I made another entry I was starting to worry I wouldn't come up with something until I realised "this is supposed to be about NOT worrying"

this one is rougher and much more natural than my first track, more improv style with minimal tweaking
