How do you create up-tempo clips???
Hi there!
I'm trying to create clips with notes that start just a little before the 1. I do not want to quantanize(to the 1/4) because I want to keep the feel upity. Is there some trick?? I couldn't find reference to this anywhere (including the manual, lessons or tutorial).

play faster.
seriously, not sure i understand, do you mean that you want the riff/lick/beat to start on "4 and" or somesuch rather than the one? if so, just use the thing you drag to show where clip should start, and start it at the end of the loop (where the upbeat stuff should be), rather than the beginning, and then let it loop from there.
i'm not explaining this well, but fiddle with the loop/clip braces, i'm pretty sure you can do what i think you're trying to explain (if that makes any sense).

No, I mean the track delay. Try to find it by clicking on the little circles on the right side of the session view. those that activate/deactivate the visibility of certain functionalities. one of them is the track delay. it allows to shift on channel a little bit ahead or behind the others (in time). It normally is being used to compensate for delays caused by plugins. but you can also use it to nudge a clip. or for what you aim for.RhinoInRio wrote:Do you mean using the brace???

Drag the clip it into the arrangement, then place the clip starting on beat 4 of bar1, drag select bar 1 and 2, select consolidate (ctrl+k), then drag this new clip back into your session view.
To trigger it you will have to trigger it a bar early but you wont have to silence anything, and if you want the clip to loop, just drag the clips loop brace start to the 1 beat which will be beat 4,bar 1, but leave the clips start point still at the begining, and also drag the clips loop brace to beat 3
