the not so hyped cool things about Live 7 thread

Post by forge » Tue Nov 13, 2007 2:14 am

I'm sure there was another thread like this but I cant find it so...

a really cool thing I like is the notch filter in EQ8

I'm really impressed with the changes in EQ8 and Compressor altogether really

Um, I like how they made the "7" much bigger than the "6" on the splash screen. It really lets people know you are done fucking around and you brought the big guns. :D

I like how when you select an area in arrange view, there are little ticks at the top that show the edges of the selected region. Subtle, but nice.

Yeah, compressor and EQ8 sound cleaner to me somehow too.

Of course, drum racks and bezier-curves are rocking my socks these days...it's gonna suck if there's much delay between beta and full release!

1) the new compressor settings in compressor II, such as 1976, deesser, cotton, acoustic, brickwall, kick reducer, cotton wall, mildly aggressive, flattenator, gentle squeeze etc.

some good presets that can be easily tweaked for your project.

2) The spectograph is a cool orange colour in default skin. The klinikal skin, as much as I love those black klinikal skins, turns the spectograph to white

The new engine can handle the EIC Grand Piano much more smoothly with no stuttering.

Alas, they are only in Sampler, but they are sure nice! Makes the envelope sync modes much more useful. I wish they would add them to Operator, Simpler, Auto-Filter...anything with envelopes!!

Sampler and (especially) Operator really do sound better in Live 7. I'm sure that's not just a placebo effect :D
