Who felt that?

Post by beats me » Wed Oct 31, 2007 3:09 am

We just had a rockin earth quake. Any Abes in the bay area feel that? Don't make me go to the news for info. I get all my news content from here.

Yeah it was really rolling here. You could hear it coming too like a plane or truck was approaching. I wonder where it was centered.

Oh, just read your "just north of SJ". So maybe it hit a little harder here then. A 5.6 is nothing to laugh at.

I was there man....I was there!

pretty mellow here but definitely noticable, not a short shaker. I guess there was a 3.something outside Concord this afternoon, the Yay Area's shaking!! sleep with your shoes on tonight!

officially the first quake I've ever felt. I was the kid that totally slept through the big san fran quakes and everyone was like "you didn't feel that???"
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Odd thoughts go through your head when experiencing an earthquake (other than weeeeeee!!!). In this case I thought about what I would have to grab to protect and it came down to one thing. My laptop. My entire studio and so many other things are just in my laptop. You have to love technology. 10 years ago I would have been freaking out about all the potential gear loss.

I was actually working on a live set in 7. I am off to post this in the beta forum.

Aren't you in Sacramento? If so then this thing really reached far.

I think they're pretty random, who knows. really, if you know LET ME KNOW!!!

on really nice days when the temp is room temp, no breeze, just perfect days I tell people "wow, this is total earthquake weather, it's too perfect out" most of the time they get a blank stare, "really?!?!?!"

I was a few miles from a 3.5 quake once, shook the fuck out of the house, I ran out into the lawn. that was a '89 Loma Prieta aftershock, that was a freaky shaker.
