A question to Trigger Finger users (Kaoss style)

Post by 4.33 » Mon Sep 10, 2007 11:18 am

in a nutshell, i failed to program the pads to turn on a device when i hit a pad and turn off when i let go.

i've been in the manual, i've turned Enigma upside down. no luck

what pisses me the most is that this IS possible!!
for example
if you go to preset 10 (ableton impulse) and assign p1-p4 to four device on/off buttons then what you have is:

p1 triggers the device on and turns off when the pad is released
p2 and p4 do the same but these buttons activate devices 2 and 4 simultaneously rather than individually (yes, they transmit differenes midi notes) WHY??
p3 toggles device on/off, so press once it's on, second time - it's off. and this pad sends exact same information as p1, p2, p4 (except for the notes). WTF IS GOIN ON?

cc147 is set on all the pads

please help me out!!!!

If you assign note to switch it on, then set it up within live to turn off when
ccXXX = 0

Can you assign both using the Ctrl/Note mute function and then edit cc to off at 0 within live

At work, just running through this in my head, may not be possible, apologies if so, don't have a trigger or live in front of me. Will check it out at home though.

i dont get it(((((((

if i set note number to 0 it still sends C2

what bothers me the most - different fucktory presets send either notes or cc

and by peeking into these presets i can't tell what MAKES the thing to send a note or a cc

i'm banging a wall

When assigning with midi learn, you can mute either note or cc with the mute Ctrl/note button. It's just above the faders on the left. That way you can assign the note and cc independently.

I'll check it out and see does it work when I get home and see does it actually work, I can't think of any other way though as I don't know how to assign note off.

Hi 4.33,
some time ago I tried the same as you,
problem is that you can't do that with the TF,
as it lacks of midi cc 148 (I don't remember exactly,
it stops at 147)
wich would give you a gate mode.
The pressure midi cc wich is send acts as aftertouch would on a normal keyboard, so it's the same midi cc for all the pads.
Only thing you could try is set all the pads to send on a different midi channel,
pushing them above 64 should enable your device and disable below this value, but not shure about this.
Hope this helps you.

it IS possible!

certain pads on certain presets do just that - you touch and the device is on, you let go and the device is off...

it's just me trying to control the bloody thing....

i'm having the same problem.

i've edited presets manually on the trigger finger and 15 out of the 16 pads, when i assign them to turn on an FX, when i press it (holding the pad) the FX is on, if i let go of the pad the FX is off. but there's ONE pad that acts differently, when i press it (and letting go of it) the FX is on, next press turns the FX off. I want this functionality for all my pads, but with Enigma I tried editing and copying all the fields to the other pads and it doesn't work. I don't get it either.
