MAX/MSP for $79.20

Post by Liam » Tue May 15, 2007 4:55 pm

For 100 copies.

I'd be very interested in this.

Why has Ableton not yet organised such a deal for us?

Or are they arranging some other special deal with Cycling74?

Some info would be nice.

This is not a group buy. This is for an institution to get several licenses.

I've drooled over the oportunity before. I ended up with a single license on academic discount - still a good deal!

I'm just guessing here, but that looks to me to be an institution/business licensing thing. ie, yes, 100 of us could get together and buy it, but we'd have to form a company to do the buying and the licenses would be to that company, not us as individuals?

I'm on the cusp of buying Max/MSP [just waiting for my previous job to pay me out]... maybe someone could email cycling74 and ask?

a group buy for max msp was attempted about 2 years ago on KVR.
c74 said IF they allowed it, all of the copies would all be liscenced to one person and not multiple people...

but c74 said no.
try again.

nothing else happened.

Do people even read anything in a post apart from the title?

Not until this thread (and this one) did I truly understand the importance and truth of your sig, Minimal.

Hi, this is never going to happen, imo. I watched that KVR thread that never came to anything from day 1-fin.

The software is incredible, but it is hard. This company would never make its money if people only bought it at that rate.

Good info from the KVR attempt. People should keep in mind that there are other price breaks, 15 people means $257.40, not a bad discount.

I'd love to get into MAX but I barely have time to do what I want with Live.
