Rename Notes - question

Post by beamsville » Thu Mar 22, 2007 1:37 pm

I like the way impulse renames notes to correspond to the name of the drum slot ... "Snare" instead of C3#, for example.

I'm sending MIDI notes to a lighting controller. It'd be nice to name the note "Laser1" instead of C3#.

Is there a way to do this? It doesn't seem to be directly supported in the interface, so perhaps a hack.

Thanks

Can you provide a little more detail on what you are doing?

Covert Operators have a rack which is used to name things, I don't know if it's appropriate for exactly what you're doing (?)

thanks for the quick response... I'll have a look, but at first glance this preceisely meets my renaming goal, with the added coolness of the giant drum kit.

Next question... how can I become as cool as the Covert Operators in three easy steps? Is there a tutorial?

Thanks much, longjohns ... long indeed.

Step 1: Master Live inside and out. Make developers go "what the hell are you doing with my software?"

Step 2: Spend 12 months preparing a major attack with an army of racks. Don't stop until you're 100% sure that you made the coolest batch of racks ever.(*)

Step 3: Stay Tuned :D

(*) Warning: hazardous lifestyle. May cause you to go a little bit soft in the head. Or the loins for that matter.....
