INDIGO DJ and CARDBUS TYPE II SLOT

Post by GT » Tue Mar 20, 2007 11:27 am

Hi,

I just bought an Echo Indigo DJ Soundcard and I'm very happy with it!

But...

I have now a chance to get a much better laptop like my old one but without PCMCIA slot... :x

What do You recommend to me? Is there any adapter or something???

Problems...problems...problems..... :x

Welcome to the fun of ExpressCard!

There is one adapter on the way to allow pcmcia card use in EC slots, but I don't think it's out yet. Google will tell you more. Until/unless you can get that, you're shit out of luck - nobody so far has moved to EC for audio hardware. You can get an EC FireWire card and use a nice FW interface of some kind, but that's about it.

I only found all this out after buying a new laptop... :(
